You do the choice of painting them according to your door color. Recessed contact switches work in the same way as of surface mounted. However it is recommended to fit them during the construction phase itself. Roller ball contact magnetic switches are also known as overhead mounted magnetic switches. Most of these magnetic switches have a life span of 2-3 years.
